Our Christmas events went well, there was a great crowd at the Colyford ceili, and the atmosphere was great as everyone enjoyed dancing to live music again.
We will be back to our usual programme from 5 January. This is both dancing at the Jolly Farmer in Newton Abbot every Wednesday and at Colyford on the third Sunday of each month.
There are five Sundays in January this year, and there will be a bonus ceili on 30 January. This will be held at Whimple Village Hall, EX5 2TS, from 2 till 5 pm with recorded music. I have been looking at alternative halls to the Colyford hall for our Sunday ceilis, and Whimple is a strong contender. We are going to try it out on 30 January. It is a very pleasant hall, with a good dance floor, parking and windows both sides of the main room. It is closer to Exeter than Colyford, which is why I am considering it. The pub nearby looks very good for post-dancing food and drink.
We are optimistic that our weekend at Halsway Manor will take place this year again, we really missed it in 2019 and 2020. This year the Manor is booked from 8 to 10 April, and Rise the Dust will be playing for three ceilis for us. There will be plenty of opportunities for dancing, playing music, visiting the local area and generally having fun. Further details on how to book are here…Halsway Manor
