A group of us are planning to go to Westport in County Mayo, on the West coast of Ireland for a dancing weekend in November. The dates for the dancing are Friday 29th November, to Sunday 1st December 2019. I’m extending the trip a few days either side for some sightseeing. The bands for the ceilis are Matt Cunningham, Swallow’s Tail and the Glenside Ceili band, all of which are well known to us from the CDs we dance to every week. Pat Murphy will teach set dancing workshops all day on Saturday and on the Sunday morning. If there are any new dances going around at that time I expect he will teach them.
The dancing all takes place in the Castlecourt Hotel, which is a lovely hotel near the centre of Westport. We are staying there too, so we will be able to come and go from the dancing as we wish.
